The Chinese government has updated the Foreign Work Permit system. Now those who want to apply for the work permit need to get to a new entry. Let’s check the details! 
If you want to apply for Foreigner’s Work Permit and browse the website of Service System for Foreigners Working in China (外国人来华工作管理服务系统), you will find that the system has been updated and you need to enter the platform via another website. 
 
Attention! Check the Updates of Foreign Work Permit System
According to the requirements for building national government services platform, from January 11, 2021, the Foreign Work Permit (FWP) system must be logged in via the government affairs services platform of the Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST). 
 
Users can select the “Legal Person” tab and use the original account and password to log in. Process and procedures of other businesses remain unchanged. 
 

Why update?

The government has changed the entry of FWP system, the website of the new entry is as follows. For this reason, every company’s FWP account needs to be verified again.

Which documents and information are needed in advance?

1. Company business license – color scan, up to date.

2. Front and back of Legal representative’s ID card (for Chinese) or Passport (for foreigner) – color scan.

3. Legal representative’s mobile number, office address, email address.

4. Office assistant’s ID card front and back (for Chinese) or Passport (for foreigner) – color scan.

5. Office assistant’s mobile number.

Here are the simple steps to verify the employer’s information.
 
1. Open to the FWP system’s new address:https://fuwu.most.gov.cn/

2. If you cannot log in, please try to add “WP” before your account (WP+username), then select to log in. Still can’t log in,try to click “forgot password”.

3. Click “外国人来华工作许可” (Foreigner’s Work Permit), then you will be asked to complete the information of your company and verify the account. After the verification is finished, you can log in to the system. Your original username and password is still usable.

New Guidelines for Work Permits Application in Guangzhou!

According to the relevant laws and regulations of China, foreigners who work in China must obtain a work permit and a work-type residence permit. Guangzhou has recently issued a new version of Guidelines for the Application of Foreigner’s Work Permit in Guangzhou, let’s check! 
New Guidelines for Work Permits Application in Guangzhou!

As we’ve said thousands of times, foreigners who work in China must obtain a work permit and a work-type residence permit in accordance with relevant regulations. 
 
On Monday, Guangzhou Municipal Science and Technology Bureau issued the Guidelines for the Application of Foreigner’s Work Permit in Guangzhou (Amended Version of 2020)
 
New Guidelines for Work Permits Application in Guangzhou!
 
APPLICATION PROCEDURES
 
According to the new guidelines, there will be two situations for the procedures of the work permit application:
 
A. Foreigners outside of China 
 
1. For those who are not currently in China, they need to apply for a Foreigner’s Work Permit Notice before entering the border (Guangzhou area) from the relevant department in Guangzhou. 
 
2. Then apply for a Z visa at a Chinese embassy or consulate abroad with the notice letter. 
 
3. After entering Guangzhou, apply for the Foreigner’s Work Permit at a foreigner work management department in the city.
 
4. Apply for work-type residence permits at a public security department in the city.
B. Foreigners in China (Guangzhou) 
 
1. For those who meet the requirements of the work permit application, they can directly apply for the Foreigner’s Work Permit at a foreigner work management department in the city. 
 
2. Apply for work-type residence permits at a public security department in the city after they obtain the work permit.

BASIC REQUIREMENTS

6 China-bound Flights to be Suspended under Stricter Measures

In recent days, China’s Civil Aviation Administration (CAAC) has issued circuit breaker directives on 6 China-bound flights. The authority has tightened the measures last month and now the involved-flights are required to be suspended for at least 2 weeks.

The Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) has issued “circuit breaker” directives on several international airlines’ flights to China as some passengers on these flights have been tested positive for coronavirus. 
The involved domestic and overseas airlines include Air China, EgyptAir, Pakistan International Airlines, Turkish Airlines and Sichuan Airlines

The list of airlines and flights that got the directives is as follows. If you’ve planned to fly to China this month and bought the tickets for the involved flights, please contact the airlines as soon as possible:

On Jan 12, CAAC issued the “circuit breaker” directives on Air China’s flight CA868 and PIA’s flight PK854. 
 
On Jan 14, CAAC issued four “circuit breaker” directives, respectively on Turkish Airlines’ flight TK72, EgyptAir’s flight MS958, China Air’s flight CA946, Sichuan Airlines’ flight 3U8392. 
 
On Jan 18, CAAC issued one more directive on Turkish Airlines’ flight TK72. 
 
Flight 3U8392of Sichuan Airlines will be suspended from Jan 25, while others of the above-mentioned flights will be suspended from Jan 18. 
 
6 China-bound Flights to be Suspended under Stricter Measures
 
Last month, we’ve posted an article saying that China adjusted measures for international flights. The circuit breaker measures have been further tightened amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
 
According to the notice, if there are five passengers on a flight who test positive, the airline’s flights will be suspended for two weeks. The suspension will last for four weeks if 10 passengers test positive.

Countries to tighten entry measures 

 
  • Vietnam 
 
Vietnam recorded one new confirmed case of COVID-19 on Monday, raising its total tally to 1,515 with 35 deaths, according to its Ministry of Health. 
 
In a recent directive, Vietnamese Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc ordered competent authorities to limit inbound flights until the Lunar New Year festival as new variants of the novel coronavirus are spreading in many countries.

  • Japan
 
On Dec 28, Japan suspended entries of non-resident foreign nationals arriving from the majority of the world in a bid to prevent the spread of the new, highly transmissible coronavirus strain. 
 
The entry restrictions will last through the end of January, while Japanese citizens and foreign residents entering Japan from regions where the new strain of the virus has been detected will be required to submit a negative virus test prior to and after arrival in Japan. 
 
Business people and students from a few countries and regions including China and South Korea, however, are exempt from the latest restrictions. Japan and South Korea have a special scheme to ease travel restrictions.
 
Japan has already banned new entries by non-resident foreign nationals who have recently been to Britain or South Africa.

  • Cuba
 
Cuba reported three more deaths and a record 388 new cases of COVID-19, the Ministry of Public Health (Minsap) reported on Sunday. 
 
Authorities are associating the current rebound in cases in the country with the entry of travelers from abroad during the end-of-year holidays. The situation has forced the government to adopt new restriction measures in several provinces. 
 
Starting on Sunday, travelers arriving from abroad will be required to submit a health declaration and a PCR test carried out no more than 72 hours before flying.

  • Philippines 
 
The Philippines shuts its borders to foreigners arriving from 20 countries and territories in a bid to prevent a new strain of coronavirus entering the nation
 
The ban on travelers from places including Australia, France, Japan and Hong Kong comes as the archipelago braces for a post-Christmas surge in the virus that has infected nearly half a million people. 
 
The country has closed the borders to Britain in recent weeks and later announced to extend the ban to Jan 15.

  • China-UK flights to remain grounded 
 
China will continue to suspend passenger flights from the United Kingdom, effective Monday, according to a news release by China’s Civil Aviation Administration on Sunday afternoon. 
 
The administration temporarily suspended regular passenger flights between the UK and China on Dec 28 to help curb the expansion of the coronavirus pandemic from the UK. 
 
Airlines are required to offer services to passengers regarding ticket refunds and alterations due to the suspension.

  • Flights to and from Shijiazhuang are suspended
 
Shijiazhuang, capital of Hebei province, has been put under a lockdown after the city reported the highest daily COVID-19 case numbers since the outbreak occurred in recent days. 
 
“All residents and vehicles are not allowed to leave Shijiazhuang and residents’ movements within the city will be limited,” Meng Xianghong, vice-mayor of Shijiazhuang, said on Thursday night at a news conference on epidemic control. 
 
Many flights to and from Shijiazhuang have been canceled since Thursday morning. Railway stations have stopped selling tickets, while long-distance buses are suspended.
