The Chinese embassies and consulates will no longer issue certified health declaration forms for people from the listed countries.
Holders of diplomatic, service, courtesy or C visas will not be affected, and foreign nationals visiting China for emergency needs may apply for visas at Chinese embassies or consulates, the notices said.
According to Foreign Ministry spokesman Wang Wenbin, the suspension of entry of non-Chinese nationals holding valid visas and residence permits traveling from the above-mentioned countries is a temporary measure made necessary by the COVID-19 pandemic situation.
“Learning from other countries’ practices and taking into consideration the evolving epidemic situation, we have adjusted measures concerning pertinent travelers to China.”
The Chinese embassies in relevant countries will publish timely notices in accordance with the evolving situation, Wang added.
The new suspension came after China eased its restrictions by allowing the entry into China by foreign nationals holding three categories of valid Chinese residence permits on Sept 28.
In March, China had suspended the entry of foreigners holding valid visas and residence permits in response to COVID-19.
We will keep following the updates on the entry policies and information about Chinese visas. Stay tuned!
